NewAir AF-520B Outdoor Misting Fan Review!

In Southern California is always hot!  Well, at least it feels like it  While the East Coast has been bombarded with snow this year, Southern California has been making history with the warmest winter on record.  So anything residents can do to cool down is highly valued.

Recently, I was asked to review the NewAir AF-520B Outdoor Misting Fan and I gladly obliged.   I knew someone that needed it more than me who didn’t have indoor air conditioning.  This was my good friend Windi.

Windi and her family also live in Southern California, but unlike me, they spend a lot of time outdoors in the summer by their pool.   But what if you don’t want to go swimming?  There has to be an alternative.  That’s where the NewAir AF-520B Outdoor Misting Fan comes in!

Yesterday we made plans to meet up and try out the NewAir AF-520B Outdoor Misting Fan at Windi’s house.  Windi hosted a springy outdoor lunch for her children (in 94 degree weather!).  But the kids were more fascinated with the fan than the picnic.  They were excited to have water play during lunch.

NewAir AF-520B Outdoor Misting Fan Review

Windi is always up for a challenge, so I had her play Mrs. Handyman and put the fan together.  The fan was nicely packaged and well protected in its box.

The instructions were easy to understand and Windi put the fan together with no problems.  The only tool we needed was a Philips head screw driver to loosen one screw and re-tighten it once we inserted a piece.
Once the NewAir AF-520B Outdoor Misting Fan was connected to the water and powered on it started to oscillate.  Windi yelled “123…ready for the water?” and then turned on the hose.  The kids started to prance around in the mist like little ballerinas!  It was cute to watch.  After a few minutes of playing in the water they finally settled back down to enjoy their spring lunch.

The NewAir AF-520B Outdoor Misting Fan has three different spray levels – low, medium and high.  The fan is very quiet and disperses an even spray of water as it oscillates.

The NewAir AF-520B Outdoor Misting Fan’s key features are:

  • Durable construction to weather outdoor elements
  • Extended misting to 500 sq. ft.
  • Oscillates for widespread cooling
  • Push button controls are user-friendly
  • Tilting head and adjustable height allows for targeted misting

In the end, we all agreed that without the NewAir AF-520B Outdoor Misting Fan, our springy outdoor lunch would not have been as comfortable.  Windi’s family definitely loves their new fan and are looking forward to using it more this summer!

Check out this cute review that one of Windi’s children did for us too!

Love the video, too cute! The hose adapter connects to the other end of the hose, so it's closer to the fan and you don;t have to walk to the hose to turn the water off. Look at page 5 in the product manual letter T
