Nitro Circus Live Show Review

We attended as a member of the media.

Nitro Circus Live

Earlier in November, Nitro Circus Live drove, flipped and flew into the HONDA Center in Anaheim, California for a riveting show full of shock and awe.  Nitro Circus is an “action sport collective” led by Travis Pastrana, featuring his friends and him traveling around the world riding dirtbikes, base jumping, and performing stunts.

Nitro Circus Live tour is an off shoot of the brand that has been travelling the world with stops at various locations in Australia, New Zealand, America and Europe.  This time they came to Southern California with two shows at the STAPLES Center in LA and the HONDA Center in Anaheim.

Never having attended an action sport stunt show before, I didn’t know what to expect.  But Field Trip Boy did!  He loves watching Nitro Circus on TV and reenacting the various stunts with his toy motorcycles and bicycles.  Thankfully, he hasn’t ventured out to try the stunts on his bike yet!  So as a compromise, I took Field Trip Boy and his best friend to see the real stunt riders do the real thing at Nitro Circus Live.

Nitro Circus Live not only showcased well known freestyle motocross, like the Red Bull X Fighters, but many, many different athletes and extreme sports, including some that don’t even exist!  Where else can you see an athlete launch a kayak, an ice cooler and a tandem scooter off of a fifty-foot high ‘giganta ramp’?

The show opened with lights and flames and a pumped up crowd!  The masters of ceremonies got everyone in the building excited to see the spectacle that is Nitro Circus Live.  Although every trick performed was simply mind blowing, there were a few that stood out in my mind.

Every single one of the FMX guys impressed me with their tricks; especially when they were performing backflips alongside each other, or in a train.

The flying kayak!  Who rides a kayak off of a ramp?  Just amazing!

Overall, Nitro Circus Live was great.  I am certain that not one person was disappointed as they left the HONDA CENTER.   I thought that the structure of the show was great, they were constantly moving from FMX, to BMX etc.

If you have a stunt loving little boy in your household like mine, then he will for sure enjoy seeing a Nitro Circus Live show in all it’s glory!
