St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Long Beach

Every fall, St. Luke’s offers a high tea in their Tea Room during their annual brass rubbings event.  The tea which includes traditional English teas, complete with sweets and savouries to accompany your group reservation.  Two public tea dates are available for groups of less than 10.  Reservations are required in advance and includes a docent talk and brass rubbing.

Chado Tea Room, Los Angeles, Pasadena, Hollywood and South Bay

Devan and Reena Shah, and Tek Mehreteab are passionate about tea.  By sourcing leaves from eight regions in India, China, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, and Japan, they are able to proffer more than 300 standard and specialty varieties online and inside Chado Tea Room.  Many of their green, black, white, and oolong teas are USDA-certified organic.  In addition, they brew special house blends for morning, afternoon, and evening, helping customers find the right blend to start the day or serve to bats that have invaded their home.

Staffers pair teas with an array of cream-topped scones, cookies, cakes, and roasted savory sandwiches during tea time at Chado’s three tea rooms.  Though each location is decorated differently, the same three-tiered sandwich platters and steaming pots of tea travel between panda paintings hanging in the Los Angeles location, underneath strings of holiday lights at the Pasadena location, and between ceiling-high wooden shelves stocked with mugs, filters, teapots, and bags of loose-leaf tea at the Hollywood location.

Olivia’s Dollhouse Tearoom, Lomita

Olivia’s Dollhouse Tearoom provides young girls with a princess party they will remember forever!  Over 135,000 little girls have been changed into princesses since the dollhouse first opened.  They are also famous for hosting baby and bridal showers, as well as fabulous “Sweet 16” parties and “Thrilled to be 13” parties.

Morning Lavender Cafe offers afternoon tea service on most Saturdays and Sundays at 10am, 12:30pm or 3pm. Reservations can be made online for up to 8 guests. Please note, these are the only times they have tea services.

Madeline Garden isn't on the list. It is a tea house in a historic building in Pasadena on Green Street which has been there for 10 years. The place is throwback to another era and the environment like a day trip to Europe, the beautiful setting. They do High Tea on the tier tiers on Friday, Saturday and Sunday with live harp music.
