I have been a fan of Hallmark greeting cards and ornaments ever since I can remember. When I was younger, my step mom always had a knack for picking out just the right type of ornament for that particular year. I specifically remember receiving a Care Bear and Rainbow Bright ornament in my stocking when I was in second grade. Still to this day, my step mom buys every one of our family members their very own Hallmark ornament for Christmas. Today I carry on the same tradition with my children!
So yesterday I went to Walmart and purchased a few Hallmark ornaments for Field Trip Boy and Field Trip Girl for Christmas. Hallmark’s ornament selections include 16 Walmart exclusives, resin figurines, Holiday Barbie, new deco figurines and more. I easily found them at the end of the Christmas aisle.
Since Field Trip Girl was Cinderella for Halloween this year, I got her a Cinderella ornament. For Field Trip Boy, I purchased a Spiderman inspired ornament, because he is a fan of Marvel characters.
To help showcase the Hallmark ornaments that I purchased I created a Hallmark Holiday Centerpiece. It is a simple centerpiece you can place either in your entry way or on a dining table.
Hallmark Holiday Centerpiece Step-by-Step Tutorial with Pictures
For this craft you will need the following items:
- 4 Hallmark Ornaments
- 3 Hallmark Greeting Cards
- 4 Tree Branches
- Glass Vase
- Glass Filler
- Mod Podge
- Paint Brush
First, you want to add the glass filler into the glass vase. In fact, you can use any type of decorative filler you want including stones, pebbles or colored marbles.
Secondly, add the tree branches into the vase. I personally cut a few branches from my tree in my back yard. However, you can also find fallen tree branches at your local park or purchase them at the craft store.
Next select four Hallmark ornaments to hang on the tree branches. Space them out accordingly. I used four different Disney themed Christmas ornaments, because my family enjoys visiting Disneyland during the holidays. It is a family tradition!
Now it’s time to add the finishing touches! So while at Walmart I picked up three Hallmark greeting cards for my centerpiece. I easily found the cards in the stationary aisle.
Cut three pieces of 2″ ribbon to use on the greeting cards. Glue the ribbon onto the back of the greeting cards and let them dry.
Finally, hang the greeting cards onto the branches and place your Hallmark Holiday Centerpiece in a premium location for all to see!
