Cruising Through Scottsdale in the 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander

Last weekend, I had the pleasure of attending a college roommate reunion in Scottsdale, Arizona.  I hadn’t seen some of my college roommates in over 8 years.  During this time, our lives have drastically changed.  Some of us had kids.  Some of us battled a life threatening illness.  While all of us had moved.  So our little reunion was about celebrating friendship and making the most of life’s moments.

While in Scottsdale, I also had the opportunity to test drive the all new 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander.  It was my first time behind the wheel of a Mitsubishi and it did not disappoint.

The 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander is the only compact SUV with a V-6 engine.  The engine was peppy enough to get my friend and I through the gravel roads to go horseback riding at Ft. McDowell Stables in Scottsdale.

I enjoyed driving the Outlander for a few specific reasons.

#1 – The Technology

The 6.1″ Touch panel display audio system was useful for when I needed change the radio station (SiriusXM radio optional), sync my Bluetooth phone or enter directions into the navigation system.  The navigation system was especially helpful when I got lost driving throughout Scottsdale, which was often.  Every road in Arizona seemed to go in the same direction!

The 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander also comes with an optional equipment package that includes a lane departure warning system.  Imagine my surprise, when I accidentally swerved to the left and heard a beeping sound go off.   The warning light made me instantly return to the center of the road.  I can now see how the lane departure warning system is designed to save lives.  It is a bonus feature you definitely want to invest in.

The 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander optional equipment package also comes with power folding side mirrors.  This came in handy when I pulled into a tight parking spot at the mall.

#2 – The Interior

The 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander includes 7-passenger leather seating.   That way my friends and I had plenty of room to stretch out and relax while driving around the area.  There is also lot of space in the back, which can be expanded with an easy-to-operate folding second row.

#3 – The Exterior

During my time in Scottsdale, I specifically drove a black colored 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander.  The vehicle’s exterior came with color-keyed front and rear bumpers, outer door handles and a front grill all in silver accent.

The exterior lighting system included auto-off halogen headlights and fog lights with chrome accents.  This is another plus for Mitsubishi, since I normally forget to turn off my headlights when I turn off my engine.  But this was a not a problem while on vacation in Scottsdale!

To top off the 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander in style, the car designers added 18-inch-two-tone alloy wheels all the way around.  Sharp looking too!

Overall, the 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander is a nice-looking compact SUV with a V-6 engine and three rows of seating.  It is a great choice for families who are just entering the SUV market.

Happy Field Tripping with Mitsubishi!
