Summer break is upon us! I can feel it in the air. My kids are getting anxious with the recent time change, having to go to bed when it’s still light outside and asking me to go swimming almost everyday. It’s as if a time clock is ticking in their minds and they know the last day of school is right around the corner.
I’m also ready for summer break! I want to toss the backpacks and pull out the boogie boards. I dream of a summer filled with sunshine, family vacations and great backyard barbecues.
Yet, as a mom, I know this is not going to happen! Within a few short week of getting out of school, my kids will be climbing the walls and saying “I’m bored!” They’ll want to watch TV, play more video games and finally succumb to sitting on the couch and staring at me with the iconic “what do I do now” look.
But this year I have an answer! “You’re going to summer camp! And not just any camp, but Engineering for Kids Summer Camp!”
Engineering For Kids Summer Camp In The South Bay
Did you know that engineering is one of the fastest growing industries in the modern world? Engineering For Kids, with campuses throughout the South Bay, including Santa Monica and El Segundo, offer exciting hands-on programs that encourage creativity and innovation in kids. Their goal is for EVERY CHILD to discover what engineers do and explore what opportunities are available for them in the STEM industry.
An Engineering for Kids Summer Camp is a wonderful opportunity for your child to explore multiple engineering disciplines in one setting, since every aspect of the camp is tied together to a single theme that’s focused mainly on having FUN!!!
During camp, your child will battle robots, escape an abandoned island and sail the seas seeking treasure! By doing so, they will also participate in activities that build upon their math and science skills, discover how things work around them and learn how to solve real world engineering problems. In my opinion, there’s nothing better than fun and learning wrapped in one!
