Last call for the OC Fair!

LAST CALL FOR THE OC FAIR!

IMG_4197[1]

This is the last week to attend the classic Orange County Fair which closes on Monday, August 10th.  The Orange County Fair, abbreviated as the OC Fair, is a 23-day annual fair that is held every summer at the OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa, California.

The best part about the OC Fair is how fun it is!  With all of the different entertainment options, it makes for a great family outing or day trip from either Orange County, Los Angeles, the Inland Empire or San Diego.

This past Wednesday, my kids and I attended the fair.

When we arrived, we first visited with the animals at Centennial Farm.

Visiting with the animals at Centennial Farms.

My children have been to Centennial Farm on several occasions.  When they were younger, we use to go with our local playgroup to visit the barn animals during the week and then head over to the local farmer’s market.

Two years ago, I led a field trip to Centennial Farm for a group of homeschoolers.  Our children enjoyed petting the baby chicks the most!

Centennial Farm is accepting new reservations for the 2014-2015 school year beginning on August 20 at 7 am.  Click here to learn more.

After the farm, we headed over to the carnival area to rides some rides.

Next we took a stroll through all the vendor halls.  This was my favorite part of the fair.  We got to see various entries from all the people who submitted their projects into the different competitions.

The OC Fair is a food lover’s paradise!  Imagine tasty fried food, drizzling ice cream sundaes and the largest corn dogs you have ever seen on a stick.  With every bite, you know it is worth the extra 5 lbs. you soon will have to work off!

Attending the OC Fair, allowed our family to spend some quality time together, while enjoying all the sights and sounds of the fair.  I hope you can enjoy it too.  The last day of the fair is Monday, August 10.
