Our family is a big fan of the classic blue box! You know, the meal that your children ask for on almost a daily basis. One my children’s all time favorite dishes to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner (if I let them!) is mac ‘n cheese. They especially like to order it when we dine out.
So two weeks ago, when it was my mother-in-law’s birthday, we took her to Elbows Mac n’ Cheese in Brea. The weather was cool outside and comfort food was on our minds, so Elbows Mac n’ Cheese was the perfect location to celebrate her special day!
Elbows Mac n’ Cheese is famous for taking a new twist on America’s food favorite: Mac N Cheese. They combine the best mac n’ cheese recipes with their own delicious signature creations. Elbow’s main intent is to blend classic American home cooking with gourmet international inspiration. In my family’s opinion, mission accomplished!
We felt right at home from the moment we arrived at Elbows. We were greeted by their kind and friendly staff and sat outside to enjoy the weather.
First up, we ordered a few of Elbow’s appetizers to sample including their Spinach Artichoke Dip, Fried Raviolis and famous Chipstick.
Next, we sampled a large array of their unique sandwiches and fresh salads. I personally enjoyed their Spinach and Artichoke Cheese Melt. It was very cheesy, of course!
What’s nice is that you can order multiple dishes and enjoy them family style or order individual portions. Their smaller sizes are perfect for a lunch date. Elbow’s also offers multi-grain, vegan and gluten-free options for those on special diets.
For dinner, my family ordered a few of Elbows Mac ‘n Cheese’s most popular dishes. I savored the taste of their Holy Cow Mac n’ Cheese made with ground hamburger, bacon and mushrooms. Delicious!
“When Pigs Fly” Mac n’ Cheese is Elbow’s most popular dish made with crispy smoked bacon and swiss and Gruyère cheeses.
As if planned right on que, Field Trip Boy delved into Elbow’s Mac N’ Cheese Pizza, complete with a full size portion of macaroni noodles and of course…cheese!
We rounded out our dining experience with Elbow’s freshly prepared sweet beignets served with warm salted chocolate.
From their melty mac n’ cheese to crisp salads and classic soups, Elbow’s delicious creations made our tummies warm and our faces smile!
Elbows Mac n’ Cheese is located at 215 W Birch Street in Brea. To learn more about this restaurant visit elbowsmacncheese.com.
Happy Eating!

I love that Mac & Cheese is getting the gourmet recognition it deserves. The best my family ever had was at Club 33 when the kid's meal had white cheese macaroni with shave truffles. Mmm my mouth waters. I don't remember what I ordered that day, but I will never forget the mac & cheese! Next time I am in the area I will try Elbow's. Thanks!
