From March 29 – April 2, the Columbia Memorial Space Center in Downey, California is offering FREE admission to the public as a part of the City of STEM Science Festival.
The City of STEM Festival is a city-wide celebration of all things Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math taking place on March 28 – April 20, 2016. There will be numerous educational and exciting events for kids and adults alike!

CMSC Cosmic Carnaval @ The CMSC – Wednesday, March 30 (All Day)
During Cosmic Carnaval, the Space Center will provide tours, robotics labs, activities, and science presentations in both English and Spanish. The goal is to bridge the gap with the surrounding Hispanic communities by offering them the same opportunities that the space center offers to English-speaking guests. Admission to the center will be FREE on this day too.
Pub Science for Adults @ Downey Brewing Company – Tuesday, March 29 (7:00 pm)
Join the Space Center as they discuss the science of brewing beer with Lagunitas Brewing Co, and talk about Planetary Science and the possible 9th planet with one of the two Cal Tech scientists who discovered it, Konstantin Batygin.
Girls in STEM Summit @ The CMSC – Thursday, March 31 (5:30 pm)
During Girls in STEM Summit the Space Center will host speakers from several organizations such as JPL, Boeing, Virgin Galactic, Herpatology Society to discuss the importance of girls in STEM and hear personal success stories. There will also be fun and engaging science activities just for girls!
Cosmic Palooza @ The CMSC – Friday, April 1 (Time TBD)
Are you a music enthusiast? Well don’t miss out on this rockin’ concert featuring science themed bands out in the amphitheater.
BIG Science Fest @ The CMSC – Saturday, April 2nd (10:00 am – 5:00 pm)
Stop by and join the Space Center for LA’s biggest Science Festival! Admission is FREE all day. Food trucks, special activities, rocket launches — this will be a great way to spend a Saturday with the family. If needed, a shuttle will be available to take families from Downtown Downey to the Space Center.
