Go Wild At The Adventure Playground in Irvine

This past weekend my daughter, her friend and I decided to visit one of Irvine’s most prestigious parks.  Adventure Playground!  This outstanding park has been around for over 25 years and recently underwent a major renovation.

On Sunday, it was a toasty one, coming in hot at 90°.  So while packing for the park, we loaded up our picnic basket with some snacks, a bottle of sunblock and a handful of CAPRI SUN varieties, the flavors of which were Organic Tropical Punch, Berry Carrot Blast, Traditional Apple and Awesomely Apple.  We put the CAPRI SUN on a bed of ice so they would be nice and cold by the time we got there.

Upon arrival aat Adventure Playground, the kids excitedly jumped out of the car and ran for the entrance.  As we walked through the main gate, we were welcomed with all sorts of cool things to do.  I imagined if a public park could have a red carpet rolled out at the entrance, this would be it!

Adventure Playground offers numerous kid-friendly activities such as a sensory garden with little pebbles for the kids to dig into, a water pump area, snaking slides, teepee tents, Lego blocks and a wooden structure 3 levels high with bridges connecting them.  And, of course, you have a plethora of swings, all of which provide an experience that few parks can rival. 

And, if that’s not enough to spark a child’s interest, they even have a cool mud pit where kids can host a mini Ragnar, roll around in the dirt, get wild and have mud ball fights.  I only wish they had something like this for grown ups!

The first thing the girls went on were the swings.  After about 20 minutes of swingarobics, they went through the playground structures for quite a while, where they found a group of kids to play tag.  After close to an hour, I could tell the girls were ready for a break.  As soon as I opened our snack sack, they tore right into it and drank CAPRI SUN.
