Children of all ages are welcome to the Kids Krazy Kraft Day at the International Printing Museum in Torrance on Saturday, March 19 from 10 am to 4 pm!

The International Printing Museum, located in Southern California, is a dynamic museum devoted to bringing the history of books, printing and the book arts to life for diverse audiences.

There is something for everyone!

  • Cast your name on a metal slug via one of the very few working Linotype Machines in the world!
  • Papermaking – get your hands wet with gooey paper fibers while making your own paper
  • Paper Marbling – see a demonstration on how to marble paper
  • Watch paper made into sculptures from scratch
  • See cartoons come to life and learn how to do it yourself from the museum’s own resident cartoonist Phil Soinski

  • Print your own design on their 19th and 20th century presses
  • Calligraphy lettering demonstrated as you watch
  • Use the Museum’s own antique printing presses to print your own cards!
  • Bring a clean t-shirt to Silk-Screen your own momento of your visit
  • Watch the Linotype’s cousin the Magnificent LUDLOW casting its type

Docents will also be giving tours and demonstrations of the International Print Museum’s collection of operating antique printing presses, including the Gutenberg press.

THE INTERNATIONAL PRINT MUSEUM ADMISSION

Tickets to Kids Krazy Kraft Day is $12 for adults and $10 for students/seniors, kids under 5 are free.  Advance reservations are highly recommended.  Tickets are available by calling the Printing Museum at (310) 515-7166 or visiting their website.

The International Print Museum is located 315 W. Torrance Blvd., Carson CA, 90745.  FREE parking is available onsite.
