Southern California’s 5th thru 12th graders are cordially invited to attend the FREE, hands-on Onizuka Space Science Day 2016 on Saturday, March 5 from 8:30 am – 1:00 pm at El Camino College in Torrance.
Coordinated by the El Camino College Astronaut Ellison Onizuka Memorial Committee, the event is dedicated to Ellison Onizuka, a Space Shuttle Challenger astronaut who perished along with the six other crew members during the tragic events of 1986.
Serious-minded science students will enjoy the following activities:
- Astronaut presentation
- Astronomy, Physics & Chemistry Demonstrations
- Different types of classroom presentations & demonstrations led by ECC professors, students, and guests from JPL and other institutions
- Hands-on science activities & experiments
- Paper Airplane Competition
- Egg Drop Competition
Group reservations are required! Individuals are invited to attend as well. To make a reservation, please fill out their online reservation form.
