RECAP: Disney On Ice Worlds of Fantasy

Disney On Ice Worlds of Fantasy

Written by Windi Eklund, SoCal Field Trips Guest Contributor

Last Thursday, my mom and I took my two younger kids, Hudson, age 7 and Bailey, age 2 to see Disney On Ice Worlds of Fantasy. Bailey was so excited to see an ice skating show, it’s all she could talk about! Hudson, on the other hand, was reluctant. In fact, it wasn’t until the day of the show that he decided he would join us.

We arrived at the Citizens Bank Arena in Ontario, picked up our tickets and found our seats. The staff at the arena was exceptionally nice and helpful, and we were all impressed with their service. Our seats were amazing, pretty close to the front and smack- dab in the center.

While we were waiting for the show to start, Hudson saw a slushy vendor and flagged him down. My mom bought him the slushy in a light-up souvenir cup and he was stoked!

Suddenly the lights dimmed, the music swelled and Mickey and Minnie started the show!

Worlds of Fantasy was an incredible ride through some of our favorite Disney movies! First stop, Radiator Springs, where our favorite cars revived Mickey and Minnie’s broken down automobile.

After our adventure in Carburetor County, we next dove under the sea with the Little Mermaid to experience Ariel’s adventures with Flounder, Sebastian, Ursula, Prince Eric and lots of other (skating) fish. The skaters were amazing! I can hardly stay on my feet while ice skating in regular clothes, these skaters were wearing some amazing costumes and doing tricks on ice!

For our third “World of Fantasy” we suddenly found ourselves witnessing Tinker Bell blooming to life in Pixie Hollow, complete with the Fairy God Mother flying above us all in the most amazing dress I’ve ever seen! We met all the fairies, learned their powers and enjoyed all the fairy fun!

After intermission, the lights dimmed once again and we were now in Andy’s room. We followed his beloved toys on an adventure through Toy Story 3, complete with Ken’s fashion show and Lots-o’-Huggin’ Bear on skates, yes that big fluffy bear on ice skates!

Finally, Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy joined in to finish up the show in true classic Disney style!

The show is amazing and kids all around us were dancing, singing, oohing and ahhing! My kids had a great time and are already looking forward to their next Disney On Ice Show. For more information and tickets visit Disney On Ice Worlds of Fantasy.

Happy Field Tripping!
