Top 5 Things To See At The Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration

Recently, my family and I were invited to celebrate the Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration in Anaheim, California.  Luckly enough, Field Trip Grandma (yes, we have one of those!) was in town visiting for the week, so she got to go with us!

Disneyland Park is currently commemorating 60 years of Disney magic!  Walt Disney originally purchased the 160-acre site back in Anaheim in 1953.  Construction began in 1954 and the park officially opened its doors to the public on July 17, 1955.  Since then, Disneyland has undergone numerous expansions and major renovations to not only improve upon guests’ experience, but create an even more magical visit for visitors.

During our time at the resort, my family and I soaked up as much of the Diamond Celebration’s sights and sounds that we could.  Here is my recap.

Top 3 Things To See and Do at The Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration!

#1 – Diamond Celebration Decorations

The first thing I immediately noticed when I entered the park was the Diamond Celebration decorations.  They were stunning, beyond words!  Event the Sleeping Beauty Castle was glistening and gleaming with special Diamond Celebration enhancements.  The Diamond 60 sign was my favorite!

#2 – Diamond Celebration Merchandise

Disneyland pulled out all the stops for the Diamond 60 merchandise that you can snatch up while visiting the park.  I found a plethora of souvenirs at the Disney Showcase, Disneyana and Emporium stores.

From classic trading pins to beautiful apparel to keepsake toys and ornaments, there is bound to be something for everyone in your family to cherish for a long time to come.  Field Trip Girl and I were mainly enamored with the sparkly Diamond 60 Minnie Mouse Ears!

#3 – Diamond Celebration Photo Spots

Another fun addition is the special Diamond Celebration Photo Spots found throughout the park.  Each photo spot has its own Photopass photographer that will take an official Disney photo for you and/or a picture on your own camera or phone.  The photographer will also ask you pose in various cute positions.

There are 3 photo spots throughout Disneyland; at the Matterhorn, Big Thunder Mountain and Haunted Mansion attractions.  In November when we visited, the lines for the rides were long, but there was never a wait at any of the photo spots.  You easily locate and identify the photo spots by looking for the official Diamond Celebration Photo Spot Signs.
