Treasure Hunters Book Series For Young Readers

This is a sponsored post brought to you by MomSelect.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Do you have a son or daughter who loves adventure? Then make sure to grab him a copy of Treasure Hunters: Peril at the Top of the World the next time you are out and about. Before you know it, he will be dreaming up his next adventure!

I’m thankful I’m a mom who never has to convince her son to read a book.  Field Trip Boy reads all day long – at breakfast, in the car, after basketball practice and most notably, before he goes to bed.  My son has always loved to read and I’ve never had to push him either.  Instead, I would simply check out a wide variety of library books and put them on the coffee table when he was younger.  Now a days, he checks out his own books.

Treasure Hunters: Peril at the Top of the World

Therefore, when Field Trip Boy and I were both asked to review the new book Treasure Hunters: Peril at the Top of the World, we jumped right on the opportunity.  Field Trip Boy had already read the first three books in the Treasure Hunters series and was excited to learn that James Patterson had written #4.  In fact, he’s talked so much about the series, that I’ve actually caught myself spending a few minutes here and there reading it for own enjoyment.

After Field Trip Boy started in on the book, I sat down with him to read Chapter 8.  I find that reading together helps strengthen our bond as mother and child.  In this era of instant gratification, research has repeatedly proven that reading aloud to your child is among the most effective ways to build a quality parent child relationship. Furthermore, children who are read aloud to by an adult get a head start in language and literacy skills and are better prepared to start kindergarten.

Treasure Hunters: Peril at the Top of the World – Story Line

If your child has read the other Treasure Hunters books in the series, then you know The Kidds just got back from China and Berlin.  Now they are ready for a new adventure in Russia!  A priceless and very important painting has gone missing and it’s their job to find it.  On the trail, they come face to face with thieves, tundra, and even stolen treasure.  No one can handle this type of adventure, except The Kidds!  Imagine spy missions and so much more.  After one page, my son was hooked!

Treasure Hunters: Peril at the Top of the World – Graphics

As a mother, one of the things I really appreciate about Treasure Hunters: Peril at the Top of the World is that the pictures in the book are very attractive and engaging for young readers.  Having pictures to look at that are vibrant and entertaining, helps young readers understand the story line better.  Especially in this case, when author James Patterson frequently references key historical sites and cities throughout the story line.

Pictures also help feed a child’s imagination.   When children read they are able to visit new places, meet new people and learn new skills.  Treasure Hunters: Peril at the Top of the World serves all three of these purposes.  Just look at my son for example!  After reading Treasure Hunters: Peril at the Top of the World, Field Trip Boy wanted to hop on a plane to go to Russia to start his own adventure.  “Not today”, I had to tell him!
