CRAFT: MARVEL Avengers Assemble Speech Bubble Pencil Toppers

“Mom, I love Iron Man! Wait, I like the Hulk better. No, Captain America is the best! Stop! I just can’t decide!” This was my recent conversation with my son, Field Trip Boy, about what type of 9-year-old birthday party he wants to have. With his birthday on the horizon, it is time for us to start planning! So instead of hosting a single MARVEL character theme party, Field Trip Boy has decided that he wants an entire MARVEL Avengers Assemble birthday party. All the MARVEL characters are now invited, plus a few guests!

To prepare for the party, I went shopping at Walmart and picked up some MARVEL Avengers Assemble party supplies. I easily found them in the party aisle.

For Field Trip Boy’s party, I decided to create these cool looking MARVEL Avengers Assemble Speech Bubble Pencil Toppers! They are easy to make.

You will need the following supplies for this craft:

MARVEL Avengers Assemble Pencils
Sticker Foam
Scissors
Puffy Paint
Star Glitter Stickers

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Choose any color sticker foam that you want for the pencil toppers. I decided to make a variety of comic bubbles, so I used the red, blue, yellow and green foam stickers. You can easily find foam stickers at your local craft store.

2. Draw different size speech bubbles on the back of the foam and cut them out. You will need to make two speech bubbles per pencil topper.

3. Next use puffy paint to write out different super hero phrases and words on the speech bubbles. I asked my son to help me come up with some words for this craft! Set aside the craft and let it dry for 4 hours.

4. After the puffy paint has completely dried add a red glitter star on each speech bubble.

5. Peel off the backing on each foam sicker for the speech bubbles.

6. Lay one pencil on top of the speech bubble ( about 1 cm. from the bottom of the speech bubble) and press down to secure.

7. Add the second speech bubble on the other side of the pencil and secure again. You are now done!

Field Trip Boy is super excited to invite his friends over to celebrate his 9-year-old birthday party and hand out these MARVEL Avengers Assemble Speech Bubble Pencil Toppers as a part of the goodies bags!
