It’s that time again! Time to plan for your next trip to someplace new and exciting this summer. Perhaps you’re taking a road trip across the country or planning a family vacation to the Grand Canyon or scheduling a visit to grandma’s house across state lines. Either way, you can prepare now for your summer road trip with these 5 Road Trip Essentials To Purchase Online!
5 Road Trip Essentials To Make Your Trip Easier
Compact Cooler
One of the first things I like to do when I get ready for a road trip is to make sure that my cooler is tip top working condition. Nothing is worse than being on the road and realizing that your cooler leaks. When the water spills, you have to stop, get out and clean it up.
So instead I like to use a compact cooler that plugs right into my car’s cigarette lighter. It is wonderful for drivers who enjoy cool drinks and snacks while on the road. There is no need for ice either. The cooler’s low noise motor works quietly to keep your snacks and drinks at a cool temperature.
Paper Map
Another item that I like to keep in my car at all times is a paper map. Yes, a paper map! Sometimes cell phones and other electrical devices give out or break while on the road. Therefore, having a handy dandy paper map of where you are going is an essential back up item. Especially when you travel with kids in the car.
Snack Container
Speaking of kids…when you travel with them, they constantly ask you for something to eat or drink. Purchasing a strong leak-proof snack container or lunch box will help keep your food separated and stay fresh until your next meal.
Sunscreen
When traveling we also need to take care of our bodies. So it’s important to put on sunscreen before taking a break or getting out of your car between travel destinations. Whatever sunscreen product that you choose, it needs to be water-resistant, and applied liberally one half hour before going outdoors.
Motor Oil
Furthermore, before hitting the wide open road, you need to check your vehicle’s breaks, monitoring your tire pressure and get an oil change. But did you know that you can save money by buying motor oil online? Shopping online helps to make your life easier by reducing trips to the store and saving money on gas.
I personally experienced this other day when I ordered a 5 qt bottle of Pennzoil 5W30 Full Synthetic Platinum Motor Oil on Walmart.com.
I selected the Platinum (synthetic motor oil) series, because it has the best cleanliness and protection in the Pennzoil line-up. With PurePlus™ Technology, the Platinum® motor oil is proven to keep pistons up to 40% cleaner than the toughest industry standard. PurePlus™ Technology is a revolutionary process that converts natural gas into a 99.5% pure base oil. Plus the motor oil I selected is on rollback right now for a limited time, along with many other Pennzoil products.
I used Walmart.com’s home delivery service to place my order and got it within a week. I could have also chosen to have it delivered to my local store. I learned that Walmart.com is not only a good place to order road trip essentials, but also a great store for everyday items such as food, clothing and home decor.
So what is your number #1 road trip essential that you need to get from Walmart.com? Please share with us in the comment section below.
Happy Traveling!

I was just looking at Walmart online and I am pretty sure there was more, of what I was looking at anyway, online than in the stores. I will definitely be taking advantage of shopping online at Walmart.com versus in store simply because I do not like shopping for the most part especially during mississippi's sweltering summer.

Ooo...Mississippi is hot! I don't blame you for wanting to stay indoors and shop online. I would assume you use your air conditioner a lot during the summer? We are going to visit Georgia and Missouri this summer from California. I can only imagine what type of humidity shock I am going to have. :)
