For over 20 years, Biola Youth Academics has served the Christian homeschool community by offering a private school satellite program and elementary, college preparatory, and Socratic-style great books courses in thriving Christian communities across Southern California and online.

Biola Youth Academics is designed for children in 1st through 12th grade.  Between their eight-week academic clinics at Biola in collaboration with Biola University’s School of Education, to their semester full-day courses available at homeschool campuses across the Southland, you can mix and match to create the ideal combination that meets your family’s needs.

Biola Youth Academics – Elementary School

Biola Youth Academics offers eight-week long elementary clinics on Fridays at Biola University and full day course offerings at various homeschool campuses in Southern California throughout the week.  The classes available for elementary school students include Language Arts, Reading, Math, Physical Science, Biology, and Chemistry, American Sign Langugage, Hands-On Art and more.

Aside from academics, Biola also offers K–8 Homeschool P.E. classes that feature developmentally appropriate movement for elementary aged students.  Children experience fun and games that are supervised by Biola University School of Education faculty and led by Biola student teachers in PE ED 201.

Biola Youth Academics – Junior & Senior High School

Is your junior or senior high school student interested in joining a thriving homeschool community and meeting new Christian friends online or in person?  Star Academics offers both campus, online and advanced track courses for this age group.

Star Academics makes available a selection of challenging assignments tailored to equip students in 7th – 12th grade for a successful future.  The academically rigorous courses strengthen mind and character to prepare home educated students for improved college entrance exam scores, a successful university experience, and lives that glorify God.  Course offerings include Foreign Language, Humanities, Math, Science, and Electives such as SAT and Career Preparation.

Star Academics is pleased to also offer Advanced Track courses online.  Offerings are equivalent to Advanced Placement (AP)* courses and will prepare students to take AP* Exams.

Biola Youth Academics – Torrey Academy

Perhaps you’ve been homeschooling for awhile and your senior high student is ready for a more rigorous curriculum?  Biola Youth Academics’ Torrey Academy provides a set of classically-based humanities courses that prepare students to flourish as Christians in the world.  Students read, discuss and write about texts that have shaped and challenged the Christian worldview over the last two thousand years.

The integrated core classes give students credit for multiple humanities courses and they wrestle with ideas within literature, history, philosophy, government and theology.  Torrey Academy provides classes online and at various homeschool campuses throughout Southern California.

Biola Youth Academics – Private School Satellite Program

Are you looking for a Private School Satellite Program (PSP) that provides community-building opportunities within a Christian environment?  Biola Youth Academics PSP provides support, guidance, and community as you home educate your children.

Biola Youth Academics PSP Membership includes:

  • Filing of private school affidavit, cumulative-file requests and maintenance, and all other required paperwork
  • Customized mobile-friendly PSP Manager record keeping tool
  • Annual general academic counseling
  • Annual university preparation and graduation advising for 11–12 grade students
  • Diploma, senior banquet, graduation ceremony, senior events, and one free official high school transcript for high school seniors
  • Referrals for special-needs consultations (gifted, learning disabled, etc.)
  • Biola University Library entrance pass
  • Student and teacher photo ID cards
  • Field trips, teen events and quarterly family events

Biola Youth Academics – Homeschool Info Sessions

Homeschool Information Session at Biola University

This summer join the staff of Biola University for a homeschool information session.  Learn how Biola Youth Academics comes alongside K–12 homeschooling families to provide a tailor-made education, nurturing their child’s unique purpose to become a relevant and redemptive voice in a changing world.

During one of BYA’S info sessions you will hear an overview of their programs including Elementary Academics, Star Academics, Torrey Academy and the BYA Private School Satellite Program (PSP).

You’ll also have the opportunity to ask questions directly of BYA’s staff, hear first hand testimonies from parents and students involved in the program and review curriculum.

Advance registration is not required and you may attend any informational session of your choice regardless of your campus of interest.
