The one thing I love about living in Southern California is the variety of ethnic restaurants that we have in our little sliver of the country.  On any given day, within 30 minutes of where I live, I can choose to eat at an Afghan, Vietnamese, Japanese, Chinese, Taiwanese, Italian, German, Persian or Argentinian restaurant.  And that’s only a partial list of what I can recall!

Now how about Indian food?

This holiday season, Tamarind of London in Newport Beach, a contemporary restaurant that sets the standard for an elevated Indian dining experience, is donating a portion of its holiday sales to the Boys & Girls Club of the Harbor Area.

The Boys & Girls Club of the Harbor Area specifically serves Orange County’s youth in Costa Mesa, Calif., Newport Beach, Calif., and Irvine, Calif.

Known for its aromatic Indian cuisine and dedication to giving back to the community, Tamarind of London has pledged to donate 10 percent of net sales from Sunday, Dec. 7 through Thursday, Dec. 11 to the Boys & Girls Club of the Harbor Area.

Local residents are encouraged to show their support for this inspiring organization by coming in to dine at the restaurant located in Crystal Cove.

Additionally, in support of the Boys and Girls Club of the Harbor Area’s annual holiday gift giving initiatives, Tamarind of London will also be providing 20 percent off any guest’s meal who brings in an unwrapped toy.

Tamarind of London’s donation from the five-day fundraiser, will directly benefit the Boys & Girls Club of the Harbor Area in its efforts to enable young people most in need to achieve great futures as productive, caring, responsible citizens.

“At Tamarind of London, we strive to give back to our community all year long, but we are especially dedicated to going that extra mile during the holidays to ensure local families have something to celebrate this time of year,” said Chef Imran Ali.  “We’re honored to partner with the Boys & Girls Club of the Harbor Area for this fundraiser.  Its work with the community and with local youth is inspiring and something we whole-heartedly support.”
