December is SoCal Field Trips.com 2-Year Blog Anniversary!

To celebrate I have planned a field trip for SoCal Field Trip.com readers to the Yakult Probiotic Factory in Fountain Valley, California on Tuesday, December 29 at 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm.   During a trip through Yakult’s state-of-the-art facility, we will see how Yakult is made, and learn more about their amazing probiotics!

The probiotic – Yakult – was originally created by microbiologist Minoru Shirota in 1935.  The beverage was introduced to the United States in 2007 by the Japanese.  Currently, Yakult sells their yogurt drink in more than 30 countries and regions worldwide.

Thanks to the amazing growth of Yakult right here in the United States, they opened their first U.S. factory in Fountain Valley in June 2014.  Yakult selected Fountain Valley because of its proximity to Los Angeles, the company’s largest market.

The Fountain Valley Yakult facility produces 400,000 bottles a day, every one of them packed with billions of Yakult’s exclusive probiotic strain, L. casei Shirot.   The bottles are shipped to mainstream supermarkets throughout the western and central regions of the country; California, Nevada, Arizona, Colorado, Texas and New Mexico.

Here are the details of the field trip:

• How To RSVP:  Please send your name, email address and the # of kids and adults in your party to [email protected] to secure your reservation.  Children must be at least 5 years old.  No babies or strollers are allowed.
• Rsvping on facebook, meet up, a yahoo group, etc. does not confirm your reservation.  You are only confirmed once you receive an email confirmation from SoCal Field Trips.
• If you have a question about a field trip, please do not call the venue.  Please direct all field trip related questions to [email protected].
• SoCal Field Trips is the only organization that can check you in the day of the field trip.  You cannot check yourself in at the venue.
• Reservations are non transferable and a wait list is not available.
• Late arrivals:  The field trip will start on time.  Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the tour start time to check in with SoCal Field Trips.  If you are late, you will not be able to join the tour, sorry.
• At least one adult (>18y) will need to be present throughout the tour with your group.  This is NOT a drop off event.
• There are ample parking spaces onsite.
