So Cal Field Trips was recently invited to Adventure City, the little theme park that is big on fun, located in Stanton, California for a preview of their new roller coaster, Rewind Racers!

Our day started off with a very warm welcome from Adventure City owners The Ansdell family and their staff.  We were treated to a traditional theme park lunch with all-you-can-eat of everyone’s favorites; soda, hot dogs, sandwiches, fruit, soft pretzels, churros, popcorn, chips, cotton candy, and even warm caramel apples.  Yummy!

After filling up on all the treats, we headed over for the Rewind Racers dedication ceremony.  Stanton’s Major Alexander A. Ethans gave a heart felt dedication speech and presented the family with a commemorative certificate from the city.  We all watched, with anticipation of our first chance to ride the new roller coaster as the ribbon was cut with two giant pairs of scissors.

Once the ribbon was cut, the race was on…

“Pull down your lap bar and get ready for the race!  Why just go forward on a roller coaster when you can go backwards too.  At 40′ tall, Rewind Racers is North America’s first forward and reversing family shuttle coaster.  Your family will be all smiles as they Race to the finish line and the checkered flag!”  I know our family sure was!

I have long been a fan of roller coasters.  My kids, however, are a little more reluctant.  Hudson was too scared, Bailey was too small, so only Athan decided he would give it a whirl.

Athan and I were among some of the very first people to ride Rewind Racers!  We hopped right into our car and set off with the wind blowing in our hair and smiles on our faces.  We sped back and forth, up and around and over and through the many turns!  

Once our ride was over, we jumped off to share our adventure with Hudson, who decided to give it a try this time around with his dad, Joshua.  And what did Hudson think of it?

Rewind Racers Height Requirements:

• Minimum height to ride: 39 inches (when accompanied by an adult)
• Minimum Height to ride alone: 48 inches

The park features many other rides and attractions for your family to enjoy.  I was surprised that there were only two rides that Bailey, age 2, could not ride (Rewind Racers and Drop Zone).  But everything else in the park was perfect for the whole family.

Some of our other favorites included the Crazy Bus, Rescue 911, Crank n’ Roll and the Balloon Ride.  Athan and Hudson really enjoyed Drop Zone, they must have ridden it 100 times!!

Another favorite attraction was the misting room.  When we have a SoCal Scorcher you can cool off at Adventure City in their misting room.  The kids played in there for a very long time and were drenched when they were done.

Bailey found her way into the park’s Thomas the Tank Engine attraction.  You know when you normally have a chance to play with a Thomas the Tank Engine track at a store all the trains are missing?  Not here, there was a huge basket full of tracks and trains.  Bailey and her brothers had a great time building and driving their trains around while we sat in the shade of a lovely tree.

We had the best day at Adventure City and look forward to returning soon!  We hope you will join us!
