This post is brought to you by Child Hunger Ends Here and The Motherhood. All opinions are my own.
“Mom, I’m hungry?” How many times per day do you hear this battle cry? In our house, I hear it over a million times! Before and after meals. Right before bedtime. And even first thing in the morning before my kids get out of bed. You get my point! Basically, they tell me they’re hungry all day long!
So imagine if your child was one of the 15 million kids in America today who are at risk of hunger. Their moms and dads are not worried about snacks. They have a greater concern – they don’t know where their next meal is going to come from. As a society, with one in five children on the verge of hunger – more specifically one in four Latino children in the U.S. – we need to care for the hungry kids are in our schools, our neighborhoods and our communities.
The good news is that ‘we the people’ have the power to help change this situation! To bring food to those in need in our local communities through the Child Hunger Ends Here Campaign by ConAgra! Through this campaign, families like yours and mine, can get involved in the fight against child hunger in small, but impactful way. Here’s how!
Opportunity #1
ConAgra has partnered with presidential “hopeful” Robby Novak, aka Kid President, to bring child hunger to America’s forefront. His first task as President will be to declare 2016 the Year of the Kid! But he needs our help to pass this initiative!
Opportunity #2
When you are shopping, look for the big red push pin on specially marked packages of ConAgra’s food, like Marie Callender’s® and Hunt’s®, at your local retailer. Then when you get home enter the code you find on the package at childhungerendshere.com. Don’t forget to look inside your pantry too! You may already have a few ConAgra food products with the big red push pin on them that you can redeem. Remember, 1 code = 1 meal to Feeding America!
Opportunity #3
Sign up to volunteer at your local food bank. Food banks are always in need people to deliver distribution boxes, prepare food, serve meals, wash dishes and other tasks. Afterwards, share family photos and stories of volunteering together on social media by tagging Child Hunger Ends Here on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, and using the hashtag #childhungerendshere.
To learn even more ways to get involved, visit childhungerendshere.com and click on the “How You Can Help” tab.
Thanks for your help!
