Thank you Curves International for sponsoring this post. Ready to get #CurvesStrong?
Today marks my 1-month anniversary since joining Curves. My original intent on joining Curves was to loose weight and get in shape. That’s what we all want, right?
However, I personally experienced something much bigger and better than I had expected. I saw a significant decrease in my overall stress level after exercising at Curves. I felt happier and energized after I worked out. I also got a “second wind” in my step that carried me through the end of the day. Even my husband commented on how much more energy I had.
How Exercise Helps To Improve Emotional Health
Later, while talking with my doctor during a routine visit, he told me that exercise is an important part of maintaining one’s emotional health. He said exercise helps to improve your overall mood and mental clarity. In fact, when you exercise, your brain actually releases feel-good chemicals called endorphins throughout your body. So, if you’re someone who deals with anxiety or depression, then exercise may be a key factor in managing your symptoms.
While working out at my local Curves, I really appreciated the positive environment set forth by my fellow club members and the owners. Each time I walked into the club, I was greeted with a warm smile and a friendly hello.
The facility itself was also bright and cheery and complimented the attitude of the gym’s owners and personal coaches. The coaches always made themselves available whenever I had a question or needed help with a certain exercise or work out machine.

For me, it is really helpful to have someone join you in your daily exercise routine. Both of you will benefit from it and may even have a stronger bond.

I can attest to the effectiveness those endorphins. It does make you feel so good about yourself. I think it is just right that it be called "the happy hormone." Exercise is the best way to release those hormones which is why I try to exercise as often as I can.
