Tips For Enjoying A Monster Jam Show

On Saturday, Monster Jam roared full throttle into the Anaheim Stadium for a live sporting event competition featuring seven monster trucks. The event showcased the trucks’ abilities to do back flips, fly through the air and spin around and around in circles.

My family invited Field Trip Boy’s godfather, named Mike, along to join us for the evening. He had never seen a Monster Jam show before, so he didn’t know what to expect. He was like a little kid in the candy store waiting to check out. He couldn’t wait for the trucks to starting roaring in.

To our surprise, there was not just 1, but 2 female drivers featured at this year’s Monster Jam show. The crowds roared a little louder every time a woman driver was on the track.

Monster Jam featured 7 new trucks that made their Anaheim debut appearances including Hurricane Force, Raminator, Xtreme Diesel, Jester, Over Bored, Xtermigator and Storm Damage. These trucks are massive at approximately 12 feet tall and wide. The tires are 66 inches and weight at least 10,000 pounds. The trucks can also travel up to 100 MPH and can fly up to 125 to 130 feet in the air.

Mike’s favorite part of the show was when he learned that the judges for the freestyle competition were the DJs from The World Famous KROQ. The DJs were asked what they were looking for out of the competition and they said they wanted to see big air and carnage, meaning the trucks would jump high in the air and get damaged at the same time. Then the drivers brought it on with extreme power. One driver even went so far as to do a complete 360 degree jump in the air! It was riveting to watch and we were on the front of our seats the entire time.

Tips For Enjoying A Monster Jam Show

Make sure to bring either plugs or ear protecting muffs for everyone in your group. The show is VERY LOUD!
The show lasts approximately 2 hours with a 15-minute intermission.
If it’s cold outside, make sure to be a jacket.
No food or drinks are allowed inside the Anaheim Stadium, including water.
Parking is cash only.

If you want to see the trucks up close and get autographs before the show, consider buying your tickets with a Pit Party Pass add-on. This special pass will allow you to go into the Pit Party with the drivers and see the trucks up close before the show from 2:30 pm – 5:30 pm.
