Phantom Projects started from very humble beginnings. The theatrical company was founded in 1996 by Steve Cisneros at the ripe old age of 17!
As a young man, Steve was extremely confident in his abilities and boasted an impressive professional resume, but theater executives in the industry did not take him seriously. So instead, Steve carved out his own career path and started to produce school theatrical productions, which focused on serious life issues such as drug and alcohol prevention to teen pregnancy to racism. After two years out the gate, Steve formed a partnership with the La Mirada Theatre, who gave him funding to produce classic readings in schools including Our Town, To Kill a Mockingbird, Of Mice and Men.
Over the last decade, Phantom Projects has developed a strong relationship with the La Mirada Theatre of the Performing Arts and continues to create youth programs, while also building a broader –
On November 20, the Phantom Projects kicks off their 2014-2015 season at The La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts, with the show The Red Badge of Courage. Show times are at 10 am & 7 pm.
“Stephen Crane’s landmark book about coming of age in the Civil War, The Red Badge of Courage, has been an English class staple for decades thanks to its blueprint of the depiction of war in modern fiction. Phantom Projects Theatre Group picks up the mantle with this adaptation from Kathryn Schultz Miller, detailing the life of a young soldier faced with the nightmarish chaos of battle. He must discover courage, humility and wisdom as he atones for a momentary blip of cowardice. Follow his emotional journey in this riveting battlefield drama.”

I had no idea this group existed. It sounds really interesting! La Mirada is a little far for me, but I'd love to check them out if they ever perform in LA!
