Easily accessible in an urban canyon, you’ll want to follow the encrypted clues for G4T50 – FIFTH Spaghetti to ensure you find the treasure without drawing a lot of attention from fellow treasure seekers.

Rocks and Rocks and Rock

Enjoy a walk along Martin Luther King Jr. Boardwalk, taking in the inspirational quotes along the way. Head west on MLK Jr. Boardwalk to Seaport Village. While the Rocks and Rocks and Rock is a sufficient clue, an additional one includes a false rock near a palm tree.

The Mermaid

Take a walk along Canyon Path, a 70-foot long pedestrian walkway connecting downtown San Diego and the waterfront. Enjoy the views of the water, skyline, and everything San Diego has to offer while searching for The Mermaid. After you find the treasure, take a photo and put the cache back in its original spot for others to locate.

Top Gun: Great Balls of Fire

Famous for a scene in the movie “Top Gun,” you’ll find your Top Gun: Great Balls of Fire treasure near the barbecue joint famous for “Great Balls of Fire.” The stars all sang the song while playing the piano.

I Love Cookies!!

Starlight Bowl at Balboa Park stars as the cache location for I Love Cookies!! Based on cookies that have been sold during productions at the open-air performance area, the cache is easily found under ground cover. Once you’ve located it, cover it up for fellow geocachers. Please do not unscrew anything in the area, as that is not part of this cache.

Anchored Away

You may want to sing Anchors Aweigh, but realistically you’ll hunt for the treasure in a spot where it can be supported magnetically. Anchored Away seeks to honor the men and women who have served the country. After you find the treasure, put it back and do a walk around to ensure it can be easily seen.

Figureheads

Figureheads are carved decorations on the bows of ships. The Star of India on San Diego’s Waterfront is a perfect example of a figurehead. While this is a virtual cache, it requires geocachers to visit the site and follow the directions on the app.

Trolls Hole

Trolls were known to reside beneath the surface of the Earth. Bring a pen as you’ll need to log your visit to the Trolls Hole. Since trolls are also known as sneaky little thieves, you’ll want to be aware of your surroundings. Trolls will be trolls.

As you track down your caches, you’ll enjoy some of San Diego’s most-beautiful views and attractions. From the ships along the waterfront to Balboa Park and Gaslamp District, your team will have a blast exploring San Diego’s geocache scene.

Happy Field Tripping!
