Port of Los Angeles Free Harbor Boat Tours

The Port of Los Angeles invites you to expand your knowledge of the world around you, and learn about the history and activities at Los Angeles Harbor by taking a free one-hour boat tour on Saturday, May 19 from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. as part of World Trade Week.

The narrated harbor tours will provide passengers with close-up views of America’s Port in action, including container ships, the Vincent Thomas Bridge and a waterside view of the LA Waterfront.

There is nothing like the experience of pulling up next to a massive containership as it unloads hundreds of containers, or seeing the world’s largest container facility that, at nearly 500 acres, is three times the size of Disneyland, and sits on a manmade island built from Catalina Island stones and material dredged from the bottom of our channels.

Port of Los Angeles Boat Tour Reservations

The public tours are one-hour in length and will depart every thirty minutes from both Banning’s Landing Community Center in Wilmington and the Los Angeles Maritime Museum in San Pedro.  Port visitors and community members of all ages are welcome.  Boats at both locations are wheelchair accessible and have restrooms on board.

No reservations are required.  The hour-long tours offer seating on a first-come, first-served basis, with refreshments available for purchase once aboard the tour boat.  Light jackets and sunscreen are recommended, and don’t forget your camera!

Port of Los Angeles Boat Tour Locations

The Los Angeles Maritime Museum is located at 600 Sampson Way, Berth 84, in San Pedro.   Banning’s Landing Community Center is located at 100 E. Water St. in Wilmington.

Additional attractions for visitors to explore along the LA Waterfront include the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium, the Gateway Plaza Fanfare Fountains, the Battleship IOWA (click on link for free tickets!), the Los Angeles Maritime Museum and the S.S. Lane Victory.
