Fall is my favorite season of the year! Throughout the season, my family and I like to make homemade pumpkin pies, go apple picking in Oak Glen and visit all the season’s best activities throughout Southern California.
One of my family’s favorite annual fall events is to visit The Irvine Park Railroad’s Annual Pumpkin Patch at The Irvine Regional Park in Orange, California. I especially enjoyed going to the pumpkin patch with my mom’s group when my children were younger.
This year it is the Irvine Park Railroad’s 11th annual Pumpkin Patch! Children and adults are invited to visit the pumpkin patch which is open daily at 10:00 am, beginning September 17 through October 31.
Irvine Park Railroad’s Pumpkin Patch Activities
This year’s Pumpkin Patch activities include train rides, hay rides, panning for gold, a child-friendly haunted house, a hay maze, a moon bounce, pumpkin ring toss, carnival games, cookie decorating, John Deere tractor racers, face painting, picture stands, great food and a lot more. The Pumpkin Patch also has thousands of pumpkins in all shapes and sizes to choose from. And there are lots of great photo opportunities too!
The Great Pumpkin Weigh Off!
New this year is the Irvine Park Railroad’s First Annual “Great Pumpkin Weigh Off!” on Saturday, September 24 starting at 11:00 am. Come see if local pumpkin growers have what it takes to grow the biggest pumpkin in Orange County! $5000 worth of cash prizes will be awarded and a live band will be playing throughout the day.
Irvine Park Railroad’s Pumpkin Patch Admission
Admission into the Pumpkin Patch is FREE along with visiting the haunted house, taking photos in the festive fall picture stands, playing in the giant hay maze and climbing on the hay pyramid. Prices for all other activities vary accordingly. Most activities are 1 ticket per person. Activity tickets cost $5.00 each or you can get a book of 15 tickets for $60.00 ($15.00 savings).
The Irvine Park Railroad’s Pumpkin Patch is open September 17 through October 31 from 10 am – 5 pm on weekdays and 10 am – 6 pm on weekends. We prefer to go during the week when it is less crowded.
